Halloween Inspiration // orange and black

Although this fabulous color combo has a special place in my heart because it represents my alma mater, I'm equally excited to be sporting it for a little Halloween fun. I thought it would be fun to share some orange and black outfit inspiration for those of you who won't be wearing a costume tonight but still want to be festive!

{lookbook} oh my orange

I love looking at glossy fashion blogs. Love them. 

The outfits these ladies put together are simply gorgeous.

But do you ever wonder what they wear on a daily basis?

There's no way they are prancing around all day in 5 inch heels and tweed Chanel blazers. 

Well, maybe they are. But I'm certainly not.

So in the spirit of authenticity, this is what I actually wore yesterday.

Flats and all. 

I don't think I've ever worn this much color in my life, let alone all in one outfit.

{Friday's Fancies} Tangerine Tango

If you've been reading my blog for a while now, you know that my absolute favorite color is ORANGE!

Simply because it's the color of my alma mater...and my blood ;)

So Pantone gave it a fancy name, Tangerine Tango, and awarded it the color for 2012

love.

This week's Friday's Fancies is all about this fabulous color and I couldn't be happier!

Whether it's in my home, on my nails or on my wrist...I love it all!

{Friday's Fancies} color crush: orange

It's no secret that I love orange!  
By virtue of the fact that it's the color of my alma mater, it's also my favorite. (I've blogged about how football inspires my style) 

That's why I was thrilled that this week's Friday's Fancies is all about our color crush.  Obviously I picked orange!

{orange power} how football inspires my style

It's no secret that this is my absolute favorite time of year.  I've been talking about it a lot lately!  Growing up in the South, Fall meant one thing:  football season...tailgates, cheering at the games, and after parties.  Football is king in the South. 

For my undergrad studies, I went to Oklahoma State University (did you see our incredible win over Texas A&M this weekend?! Go Cowboys!)  Our team colors are black and orange, so I'm constantly on the lookout for classic & sophisticated ways to incorporate these traditionally Halloween themed colors into my clothing and home design.  Over the years I've seen more and more glamorous pieces in this combination of beautifully rich orange and chic black.  I was born & bred a Cowboy so orange has always and will always be my favorite color.  Lucky for me, Pinterest has plenty of inspiration!
