Not quite sure when/how it happened, but I've some how fallen head over heels for polka dot pants! I sometimes feel childish in polka dots, but something about pants adds a bit of sophistication. So I was doubly excited that this week's Friday's Fancies is all about #projectpolkadot! I decided to style an outfit around polka dot shorts since the weather is finally getting a bit warmer here in the South.

Inspired Style // Lace Love

Happy Friday my dears!

We're getting lacy, lacy on this week's Friday's Fancies. I love lace but sometimes feel it can be too sweet. That's why I like to look for lace with bold patterns, not always floral. And I pair it with edgier pieces like black pants and jean jacket. I must admit though, my favorite part of this outfit might just be the accessories: lucite wedge heels...are. you. kidding. me. And a rose gold + white Marc Jacobs watch, well not much needs to be said there! ;)

As I once again work to refine my style in the new year, I find myself still drawn to clean simple lines and color combinations. I love camel + grey. It's so clean yet sophisticated. Today's Friday's Fancies outfit is inspired by the gorgeous outfits above which I found on Pinterest. One of my favorite combinations is an oversized sweater, boyfriend jeans and high heels....such a relaxed, feminine silhouette. And super comfortable. Of course no winter outfit would be complete without faux fur. Nothing beats a collar/scarf which you can easily throw on for chilly mornings.

Inspired Style // Fall Treats

She's a smart cookie, that {av}! When she suggested that we create outfits for Friday's Fancies based on our favorite fall treats, I knew I was in. So this week's style is inspired not by home decor or fashion on the streets...nope, it's inspired by yummy delicious sweets from our kitchen. I'm telling ya, inspiration is everywhere. Rich caramel sauces and candy apple red translate perfectly from desserts to warm cozy knits. And a white watch inspired by cool whip...hello!

I'm wrapping up this 4th of July week with a nautical-inspired Friday's Fancies

I love this trend and I especially love it for this time of year. 

But I was unsure how it would translate from the office to the weekend.

A Skinny, Dirty Party!

All kinds of fun happening today! I'm such a lucky girl! 

I got the opportunity to partner with Skinny Cow ice cream to host a screening party for my friends 

in celebration of Dirty Dancing's 25th anniversary!

A great big thanks to Skinny Cow for fueling this celebration with lots of ice cream, to Baby & Johnny for the groovin, to my friends for being oh so fun and to Daily Buzz Style for bringing it all together! Here's a little peek at the night's festivities:

Peanut butter & mint ice cream sandwiches (which were delicious by the way!),
popcorn and pretty much every girl's all-time favorite movie. Such a fabulous night!

someone who shall remain nameless really enjoyed that mint ice cream sandwich!

the whole night was an absolute blast!

This week's Friday's Fancies is all about taking our favorite outfit from Pinterest and recreating the look our way. There really wasn't much I wanted to change for this perfect ensemble, but I took away the cardigan and added a fun floral scarf. Seriously, amazing.

We're celebrating Memorial Day Weekend on Friday's Fancies this week!

This is my favorite time of year!  Even though I don't love the heat, I do love the lake!

I grew up with summers on the water...playing around on boats and jet skis, camping out, telling stories 
and spending time with my nearest and dearest.

For day, I kept the look simple: jean shorts & a striped tank over a fun bikini

Please, please don't forget sunscreen!

To transition into night, I picked patriotic colors, statement earrings and lots of bold mascara!

I'll be at my best friend's wedding this weekend so even though I won't be splashing around, I will be surrounded by 
my favorite people and celebrating love!

was about our color crush, naturally I was going to pick orange!

I've been majorly crushing on the color grey lately...such a perfect neutral

And while it may traditionally be associated with colder months,

1) Thakoon nails it with this stunning Striped Printed Jersey Maxi Dress. This pattern makes a great canvas for bright neons to be added to this ensemble!

2) Since I know Mae loves monograms like me, this BaubleBar Extra Large Acrylic Monogram Necklace was a no-brainer. I love the idea of rocking my initials in a bold hue!

3) Sure, I could have chosen another bright piece, but this Marc by Marc Jacobs Classic Q Baby Aidan Bag kept calling my name. It could bridge multiple seasons and hold its own with any outfit.

When given a choice between pastels and brights I tend to choose bold brights. 

It's not that I don't like the soft, pretty shades I just tend to gravitate towards richer hues.

I was having a hard time dreaming up an outfit for this week's Friday's Fancies. 

So of course, I turned to Pinterest for some inspiration and I found this amazingly adorable photo:

In this outfit, I kept everything else soft & neutral so the colorful garden theme of the D&G shirt could be the star.
