{fashion files} the denim shirt

I must admit, when I first saw denim shirts popping up on fashion blogs and style sites everywhere, all I could think of was Junior High.  Remember when they were popular back in the day?  Well, they're back.  At first, I resisted...but lately I've found myself drawn more and more to a tailored denim shirt.  I'm kinda loving it!  It brings a playful vibe to structured pencil skirts and pairs nicely with fun-colored trousers.  Check out these street style denim shirt looks I found on Pinterest.

Hope you had a wonderful weekend!  Mine was lovely. 

On Saturday the weather was cool & breezy, and I had a delicious brunch

at a cute little cafe called Spoons at the top of the mountain. 

If you're following me on Instagram you saw some snippets. 

I really loved my outfit so I thought it would be fun to share some photos.
My favorite piece is obviously this maxi skirt from Zara!
The leopard speaks for itself & it's made from an amazingly soft cotton.
The best part is that it can also be worn as a strapless dress!

So here we go, it's my second outfit of the day post! 
I think/hope I'm getting better at this...

{fashion files} I forgot how to wear jeans

I work a lot.  And the social functions I do attend, they happen right after work.  So naturally I wear my business attire out and about.  All the time.  Now I must say...I have pretty cute work clothes, but still I'm always 'dressed up.'  

I'm moving back to the US at the beginning of the year and I'll be away from the traditional corporate environment for a little while.  Super exciting but, I kinda forgot how to put together casual outfits!  Especially ones that are still stylish.  Leggings, Uggs, and a sweater...that I can do any day.  But fall/winter appropriate, casual outfits designed around a fantastic pair of jeans...I seriously think I forgot!  Thankfully Pinterest is full of inspirational ideas to help me out!
